Zulum’ Distributes Palliatives: To 3,000 Men, Disburses N5,000 Cash, Wrappers To 3,500 Women In Marte

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum’ has distributed food palliatives and disbursed cash support to selected 6,500 households/families in New Marte, Headquarters of Marte Local Government Area of the state.
The distribution, which took place in New Marte on Monday and Tuesday, included 25 kg bags of rice to 3,000 male households and 25 kg bags of maize to each of the benefitting 3,000 male families, while on Tuesday, 3,500 female households were disbursed N5,000 cash alongside a bundle of Nigerian textile fabric wrappers each to the women that benefitted from the N5,000 provision.
The entire distribution process was closely supervised by Borno State High powered Palliatives Committee Chairman, Hon. Engr. Bukar Talba who is also the House of Representatives Member representing Marte, Monguno, and Nganzai Federal Constituency at the National Assembly on behalf of the State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum’.
New Marte is the administrative seat of Marte Local Government Area of Borno State located at the western coast of Lake Chad as one of the stronghold Boko Haram terrorists that was among the few LGAs that were yet to be liberated by the military sharing international border with Niger and Chad republics, which was attacked and came under Boko Haram’s occupation displacing the people until it was liberated by the military recently and the IDPs were resettled by Governor Zulum on November 30, 2020 and still under tight military guards like Kala Balge , Guzamala and Abadam LGAs located in Northern Borno.
Engr. Talba was accompanied by Engr. Mohammed Gombomi, Member representing Marte LGC State Constituency, at the State House of Assembly, Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Engr. Bawu Musami and the Executive Chairman of Marte, Hon. Babagana Abatcha as well as Alhaji Ali Shettima Marte among others.
