*Launches Electronic Central Motor Registry

Katsina State Police Command
has established a Complaint Response Unit (CRU) for accountability, transparency and responsiveness to public complaints.
The establishment is in line with the policy of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolo Egbetokun.
The unit according to a statement by the spokesman of the command, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, would serve as a focal point for receiving and addressing complaints from members of the public against police personnel in the command.
“It is part of our efforts to provide a more accessible and efficient process for handling complaints, thereby ensuring that the rights and dignity of all individuals are upheld,” the statement said.
However, the Katsina Police Command said it remains steadfast in its dedication to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
Consequently, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) said the establishment of the CRU reaffirms the command’s commitment to fostering trust and confidence within the community it serves.
“We encourage members of the public to utilise this resource to report any concerns or grievances they may have. By working together, we can ensure a better and more accountable police force for all,” the statement emphasized.
In a related development, the Police Command in Katsina State has launched an Electronic Central Motor Registry (eCMR) Office to combat Vehicles related Crimes to enhance internal security across the State.
Located at the command’s headquarters in Katsina Metropolis, the eCMR was aimed at bolstering efforts to tackle vehicle-related crimes and enhance public safety and security.
The eCMR according to PPRO Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu represented a strategic leap forward to effectively address vehicle-related crimes such as car theft and vandalism,
ASP Sadiq Aliyu stressed that,” by leveraging advanced technology and streamlined reporting mechanisms, the NPF seeks to create a more robust and responsive framework for addressing these challenges.”
He said, “though the eCMR platform, citizens are encouraged to promptly report incidents and provide relevant information to facilitate swift and effective resolution of vehicle-related offenses and This initiative holds the potential to significantly deter criminal activities and enhance the overall security landscape.”
He said the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa has called on members of the public to key into the initiative and contribute to the collective effort to mitigate vehicle-related crimes.
He noted that,”by embracing eCMR and actively participating, individuals can play a vital role in the ongoing fight against all forms of vehicle-related crimes in the state and country at large.”
