*Tasks Nigerians to be patient
*Insists governors largely responsible for hardship

President of Afenifere World Congress and Chairman, State of Kansas Branch, APC-USA, Prince Bayo Ogunmeno yesterday, said that President Bola Tinubu needs more time to reposition Nigeria.
The APC chieftain in a statement, declared that as a result of this, Nigerians should be patient with President Tinubu in repositioning the country.
Prince Ogunmeno pointed out that President Tinubu is making spirited frantic efforts at repositioning the country and needs more time, saying the President means well for Nigeria and should be given more time to carry out his agenda of turning the country around.
“President Tinubu met a terrible state of affairs. He has been trying to reposition the country, but this will definitely take time. I plead with Nigerians to please give our President more time. He knows what he is doing”, he said.
Prince Ogunmeno added, ” He has the capability and capacity to turn around the fortunes of the country, but Rome was not built in a day. Nigeria is also a federal state, we should also put the state governors on the spot and assess their performance.
“Few months ago, President Tinubu released N5 billion to the state governors as palliatives. He said the governors should buy and distribute rice and other grains for the people of their states. But we all know what happened. Though the president meant well, but some of the governors didn’t purchase or distribute rice to their people”.
The Afenifere Chieftain noted ” Who do we blame? Governors have usurped the functions of the Local Governments Chairmen. It is terrible”.
“President Tinubu met a terrible state of affairs. He has been trying to reposition the country, but this will definitely takes time. The level at which the country was before President Tinubu takes over, was precarious,”
The Afenifere Chieftain maintained that the country had deteriorated so badly and that patience is the key word now.
