Foundation Trains Security, Traditional Stakeholders On Transitional Justice

Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, a locally based non governmental organization has organized a one-day workshop in “End of Project Dissemination Event Strengthening Capacities and Will for Transitional Justice and Reconciliation in Borno State, Nigeria”.
The security and non security actors stakeholders one-day workshop was held at Armani Event Centre, Abdulmumini Adisa Street, off Damboa Road, Maiduguri, Borno State on Monday
In her welcome address, Executive Director, Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin highlighted on the rationale behind the project, themed, “Strengthening Capacities and Will for Transitional Justice and Reconciliation in Borno State, Nigeria” and organizing the workshop which was targeted at getting feedbacks as responses and opinions from the security stakeholders and governments actors.
She added that the workshop is aimed at digesting the opinions of the leaders as community representatives and stakeholders who are more closer to their people and directly relate with their subjects .
The Executive Director urged the stakeholders to avail themselves of the aims and objectives of the workshop which is targeted at getting feed back as opinions and views from them in the charter of demands of the deradicalized women and girls who are widows, survivors and victims of the Boko Haram insurgency.
According to her, other issues, problems, challenges and needs of their people also need to be known with a view to impress on government to come out with government policies in the charter of demands of their subjects affected by the insurgency living in their various communities.
The Project Facilitator who is also a Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant, Dr. Lawan Balami coordinated the activities of the workshop and explained extensively the need and reasons dissemination of learnings on the project should be carried out in forms of advocacy, enlightenment and mobilization with a view to educate the stakeholders and target groups the project aims abd objectives
He said one of the major reasons why the End of Project Dissemination Event Theory of Change and Project Outcomes as well as activities Implemented and targets that have already been reached should be knowledgeable on happenings around them and what the Lessons Learned in the field could be shared and comprehended.
Goodwill messages, assurances and commitments were received from most of the security officers and their representatives, district Heads and other government officials including the vigilante groups of CJTF and hunters.
The stakeholders called for synergy and cooperation between the security agencies in their areas with the traditional rulers in safeguarding lives and property of the citizenry while reiterating that commitment a d support to peace building, reconciliation and reintegration
They further appreciated Allamin Foundation innovations and strategies of doing things and showing concern for the women and girl child especially victims and survivors of the insurgency, educating the children and victims and survivors of the conflict
