AGRA Kaduna Consortium Empowers Farmers From 4 LGAs With Water Pump Machines

As part of commitment to empower farmers with necessary resources, the AGRA Kaduna Consortium project led NAERLS in distributing nine sets of water pumps and accessories to selected Community Based Advisors (CBAs) to improve productivity and increase their resilience.
The distribution ceremony took place at National Agricultural Extension Research and Liason Service (NAERLS) on Friday.
This initiative is aimed at boosting their productivity and yield, increase resilience and efficiency and provide opportunities for additional income generation.
About 2,000 smallholders’ farmers and cooperative members are expected to benefit from the services of the water pumps through rental services through the intervention..
This support is expected to have a positive impact on the livelihood of the beneficiaries and their communities in all the benefiting local government areas of Kaduna State.
Similarly, this effort is also anticipated to have significant effect on the production and output of farmers in the dry season farming communities across the beneficiaries from Zaria, Makarfi, Igabi and Sabon Gari Local Government respectively..
