Oyo Obas To Meet Gov Makinde  Over Bodija Explosions, Security Breaches

Worried by the last Tuesday night explosions that rocked Bodija area of Ibadan, traditional rulers in Oyo State will this Tuesday, meet with Governor Seyi Makinde.

The Deputy Chairman of the Oyo state Council of Obas and Chiefs,  the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao made this known in a statement at the weekend.

Oba Alao in the statement disclosed that the meeting was aimed at addressing some security breaches noticed in some communities in the state.

The Olugbon of Ile Igbon stressed that at the end of the meeting, the traditional rulers would come up with suggestions to the government on practical ways to prevent a recurrence of that kind of ugly situation in the future.

” Arising from the sad incident, the Council plans to have a meeting with His Excellency Governor Makinde on Tuesday, 23 January, 2024 over security breaches in communities”, he said.

Oba Alao added, “During the meeting members will come up with suggestions to the government on practical ways to prevent a recurrence of this kind of ugly situation in the future”.

“A communique shall be issued at the end of the meeting. May the Eledumare protect all our subjects across the lengthy and breath of Oyo State”.

Commiserating with Gov Makinde and the families of victims of the explosions, the Council of Obas and Chiefs commended Governor Makinde for his swift response and actions he took so far over the sad incident.
