Delta Governor Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has sent names of three new commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and possible confirmation.
Names of the nominees sent to the State House of Assembly includes, Ekemejero Ohwovoriole SAN. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza, Information Commissioner and Anemala Penewou, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs
This was disclosed by the governor in a letter, dated January 22, 2024.
The three commissioner nominees represent the three senatorial districts.
The Attorney General in waiting is from Delta Central senatorial district.
The governor, according to him, is very pleased with the lawyer’s advocacy skills and would want him to be the legal compass of his administration.
It would be recalled that fot the information commissioner, two prominent journalists have been eyeing the position.
News however, has it that the former Information Commissioner was also angling for the position.
Recall that Delta State has been without commissioner for information, attorney general and commissioner for chieftaincy affairs since the inauguration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori
For seven months running, the Delta State cabinet has been without two critical commissioners to power the MORE agenda of the administration
