Katsîna Govt Requests Support In  Registering Persons Affected By Banditry

Katsina State Government has requested State Operation Coordinating Unit (SOCU), National Social Safety-net Program to aid Government in building a comprehensive register for persons in various communities affected by myriads act of banditry in the State.

Senior Special Assistant to Katsina State Governor on Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Alhaji Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja made the request when he visited Katsina SOCU Office.

He said the office was mandated to assist victims of banditry as well as Internally Displaced Persons who left their communities by developing and implementing initiatives for immediate needs of the victims.

The information was contained in a statement by SOCU information and Communication Officer, Marwana Abubakar Darma.

Alhaji Sa’idu Danja said the office was operating with Desk Officers at Local Government and hospitals in the State.

Responding, the State SOCU Coordinator, Alhaji Kabir Adamu who assured support to build the register, explained the process of building the State Social Register.

He assured to liase with the Local Government Desk Officers affected to achieve the desired goals.
