Obasanjo To Gov Adeleke: You Are Doing Very Well, Don’t   Derail As People’s Governor

Former President, Chief  Olusegun Obasanjo at the weekend, declared that Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is performing very well in office.

Chief Obasanjo said this, while speaking at the conferment of the title of Baba Oba of Joga-Orile on Governor Adeleke on Friday evening by Oba Adeyemi Adekeye who is also celebrating his birthday.

According to the former President, Gov Adeleke should not derail as a people’s governor by keeping up with his commendable performance.

Chief Obasanjo who emphasized that almighty God has guided Senator Adeleke to be performing very well prayed that God will not forsake him.

“ You are doing well with God’s grace. You must continue on that path. The good Lord who is guiding and directing you will not forsake you” , he said 

The former president lauded Gov Adeleke for his respect for elders, saying , the governor explained that he won’t go for the event unless he (Obasanjo) blessed the occasion.

Governor Dapo Abiodun while speaking at the event, said the conferment of the title on Governor Adeleke is a celebration of the good memories of the late Isiaka Adeleke, saying, “ we are for families, not politics.

The Ogun State Governor who stressed that the chieftaincy title brought golden memory of the first executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Isiaka Adeleke noted that the event was his first public function at Yewa since he won at the Supreme Court.

Oba Adekeye disclosed that the first holder of the title was late Governor Isiaka Adeleke, saying, “after the transition of the Gov, we deemed it right and proper to bestow the honour on my brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke.

“God who took away my brother, Isiaka is the one who returned the Governorship to the Adelekes through my brother, the new Baba Oba. You will live long with grace, mercy and divine shield”, the royal father prayed.

Governor Ademola Adeleke while  responding to the new title declared that dedicated that the occasion was “ a celebration of life” and a worthy remembrance of his brother, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke.

While thanking Oba Adeleye for returning the title to the Adeleke family and keep the flag flying expressed his appreciation to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Dapo Abiodun and his team; Chief (Mrs) Yeyeluwa Dupe Adeleke Sanni; the state Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi; the House Speaker, Hon Adewale Egbedun; the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Teslim Igbalaye; Chief of Staff, Hon Kazeem Akinleye; publisher of Ovation Magazine, Chief Dele Momodu; members of the Executive Council among others.
