Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been urged to rally around the State Assembly candidate for Makera Constituency, Hon Solomon Katuka, ahead of the February 3 rerun election.
The 2023 PDP gubernatorial candidate in Kaduna, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Isa Ashiru Kudan, stated this when party stakeholders from Kaduna South visited him in his office following the Supreme Court verdict on his petition against the declaration of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Uba Sani, as the Kaduna State Governor.
Hon. Ashiru Kudan charged the campaign team under the leadership of the Hon. Member Representing Kaduna South Federal Constituency, Mal Abdulkarim Hussaini Ahmad (Mai Kero), to ensure victory for Hon. Solomon Katuka, who he said the good people of Makera Constituency massively voted for during the last general elections.
He called on the team to do everything possible within the ambit of the law to ensure the people’s choice is freely given to them.
Responding, the Director-General of the Hon Solomon Katuka Re-run Election, Hon. Abdulkarim Hussaini Ahmad Mai Kero, assured that the PDP and its candidate will, by the grace of God, record a resounding victory at the end of the election.
Reacting to the Supreme Court verdict on his petition, Hon. Ashiru said he clearly won the election, as the people of Kaduna State confidently voted for him as their governor, but were denied their true mandate.
