Villagers at Gege area of Ogbomoso have apprehended 3 suspected herdsmen over the killing of a Pastor identified as Evangelist Adegboyega.
It was learnt the Pastor was reportedly killed along the Ogbomoso-Iseyin road in Gege area.
New Nigerian gathered that Pastor Adegboyega reportedly met his untimely death when he challenged the herdsmen that reportedly invaded his farm with their cattle to graze his crops.
On getting the wind of the killing of the pastor, residents in the village headed for area and apprehended the three suspected herdsmen and immediately moved them to the Palace of Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye after which they were subsequently handed over to the police for investigation.
It was learnt that the body of Pastor Adegboyega has been deposited in a private mortuary.
The Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye while addressing the family of the clergyman assured that he will ensure justice is done, saying he would work with security agents to get justice for the family of the deceased.
“As your father, I wish to say, this is an ugly situation and it’s uncalled for. I have spoken my mind to the Area Commander (of Owode Police headquarters), who is here with me and I want to assure you that justice would be served. I equally sympathize with every one of you, may God continue to watch over you and the entire land of Ogbomoso.”
