Zulum Approves Cash, Food For CJTF, Vigilante Groups In Borno

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved relief packages comprising cash and food items to volunteers fighting Boko Haram insurgents alongside the military and other security agencies in Bama town.
The governor announced the package when he addressed the leadership and members of the vigilante groups at the palace of the Shehu of Bama, HRH, Umar Ibn Shehu Kyari Ibn Umar El kanemi, on Monday.
He distributed to a total of 810 combined vigilante groups cash donations and food items including rice and maize grain among others.
It would be recalled that the governor usually extends such support to the military, para-military, police and vigilante groups from the military, Civilian Joint Task Force, hunters and vigilantes whenever he visit to Local Government council headquarters and rural communities.
He however, commended the vigilante groups for their support and e sacrifices while assuring them of state government’s continuous support in order to provide peace and security.
“We are aware of the enormous efforts you put into complementing the military in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality. We commend you and urge you to continue to be dedicated.
“The Government of Borno State will never relent in extending support to you. Your welfare is of high priority to us, we will not leave you. Be assured that the government will always be with you,” Zulum said.
Zulum revealed that his continuous support to the security personnel was to show gratitude to the vigilante groups for their sacrifices in complementing the efforts of the military personnel and other security agencies in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents.
