Kwara League Of Women Voter’s Inaugurates New Executives. 


*Seeks support from Traditional rulers.

The members of the Kwara State Chapter of the League of Women Voters in Nigeria (NILOWV) has been charged to continue to seek relevant support from all the traditional rulers across the state.

The Olojoku of Ojoku Land in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Oba Abdulrazak Adegboyega gave the charge yesterday at the inauguration ceremony of the new leadership of NILOWV at the Kwara State Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), ilorin.

Oba Olojoku  of Ojoku Land who commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support for the women and for appointing women into his cabinet, said is a good development. 

The guest lecturer at the event, Mr Femi Oyedeji said the role of women in the nation building cannot be over emphasized.

Mr Oyedeji mentioned that the female child should be given right to quality education and protection and also congratulated the new leadership of association.

He called for support for the women in politics from the major stakeholders at the grassroots, saying that the support of the stakeholders are very relevant for the progress of the women in politics.

In her acceptance remarks, the new State Chairperson of the association, Hajia Bilqees Modupe Oladimeji promised to take the association to the greater heights and improve awareness of the importance of women participation in politics.

Hajiya Bilqees Oladimeji also mentioned that one of her top priorities will be to expand advocacy to the grassroots and engage with women at the 16 local government areas of the state.

She also pledged to uphold values and work tirelessly to achieve the mission.
