Umuada Awgu  Association  Places N1m  Bounty On   Anambra Woman Who Allegedly Tortured 11-yr Old House Help 

*Gives police 48 hours to fish out perpetrator

Women  of  Awgu  Local Government Area of Enugu State,  where  an eleven  years old  househelp, Miss Happiness Nwafor,  was recently violently brutalized with hot knife and electric iron by her madam,  hails from,  have placed a one million Naira bounty on the perpetrator, Adachukwu Cukelu Okafor, who has been declared wanted by the police.

 It would be recalled that same. women, had last week  Wednesday,  staged a peaceful protest in Enugu, demanding  justice for the victim,  who  was  tortured  with  hot knife and electric iron by her Madam who equally 

mutilated  different  parts of the minors body, including her vagina.

This is coming barely 48 hours after the federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development,  via the Minister, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye announced a  bounty of two million Naira  on the perpetrator 

The women said anybody who avails  the police,  Anambra State Government, or other relevant authorities with  necessary information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrator, will smile home with one million Naira from them.

The perpetrator,  who hails from  Anambra State and resides in the commercial city of Onitsha, where she perpetrated the barbaric  act, was said to have accused  the victim of fondling the private part of her eight year old daughter while bathing her.

Briefing  newsmen on Thursday under their platform,  Umuada Awgu Progressive Association otherwise  known as Umuada Awgu Global, its president/Founder Ambassador Chinemerem Anyi, accompanied by other members of the body, said it beats the organization’s imagination that almost three weeks after the woman perpetrated the evil act, the police is still saying that she is still at large.

They posited that going by the manner the matter is being handled by the Anambra State Police Command,  the organization is beginning to smell a rat, adding that they are giving the police 48 hours to apprehend the perpetrator or  incur the full wrath of the women who she  said, are heart broken over the barbaric act.

According to Anyi, the  Awgu. women have been resisting the temptation of taking the laws into their hands over the matter as civilized people, but warned that such calm disposition should  not be taken for granted or weakness.

“Today,  we are here gathered for this important  press briefing over the recent brutalization  of our daughter,  Miss Happiness Nwafor by her wicked  Madam.

“We are using this media briefing to call on the butcher woman to better submit herself to the police, or other relevant authorities, because no matter where  she is, she will be fished out,” the group said, vowing that the organization would not rest on its oars until justice is served on this matter.

The leader of the group said the police and Anambra State Government should as a matter of utmost urgency, implore every arsenal in apprehending the culprit, saying the group is being pushed to the wall on the issue.

“Adachukwu is a beast and must so be treated. She  has murdered sleep, and cannot sleep, she has bitten more than she can chew,” the group declared.

The organization used the briefing  to call  on mothers to bear the number of children they can cater for,  to avoid giving out their  under aged  children as househelps.
