Shettima Visits Buhari In Daura, Katsîna, Pays Homage To Emirs


*Assures insecurity would soon be over

Vice President Kashim Shettima was in Daura for a private visit to the former President Muhammadu Buhari where they held a meeting behind closed doors for about an hour.

Vice President Shettima told Journalists immediately after the meeting that, he was in Daura to pay homage to the former President and discuss some issues of Paramount importance.

 Shettima who arrived  Umaru musa Yar’adua International Airport onboard a Presidential Jet (Nigerian Air Force) at noon,  was received by Governor Dikko Umar Radda, his Deputy Honourable Faruk lawal, Speaker State House of Assembly, Honourable Nasiru Yahya Daura, Chief of Staff to the Governor, APC Chairman, Members of the State Executive Council and politicians.

On   arrival at the airport, the Vice President was accompanied to Daura by Governor Radda and his Deputy Honourable Jobe.

However, Vice President Shettima disclosed that, the “Federal Government is also aware of the security challenges being faced not only in Katsina and efforts are being made to bring sanity and get rid of the problem.”

The Vice President later paid homage to the Emir of Daura Alhaji Faruq Umar Faruq and that of Katsina Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman.

The Vice President was in company of some Ministers and notably Personalities with includes:- Minister of  Budget and economic planning, Alhaji   Atiku Bagudu, his agriculture counterpart alongside  the  Deputy Chief of Staff to the President,   Office of the Vice President and  the renowned politician and former Governor of  Imo State,  Rochas Okorocha among others.
