The Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed (Kaura) has approved the immediate payment of leave grant to all categories of workers both at state and local government levels.
Governor Bala made this pronouncement yesterday at meetings with top government functionaries and representatives of civil servants in the state following the commencement of Ramadan.
The governor had instructed the commissioner of finance to effect the payment within the next 24 hours and ensure basic salaries are paid alongside leave grants.
The payment, according to Governor Bala, is a deliberate effort to give civil servants a sense of belonging and cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal and also to cushion the untold hardship of the masses.
