Kuriga Schools Kidnapping: Shettima Visits Kaduna

Vice President, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima on Saturday was in Kaduna, to commiserate with the governor and the people of Kaduna.
The Vice President came to the State following the kidnapping of students in Kuriga Ward in Chikun Local Government Area.
Governor Uba Sani, Malam Balarabe Abbas, the Minister of Environment, the Rt Hon. Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman and other senior government officials have welcomed the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima at the Airforce Base in Kaduna.
It would be recalled that last Thursday, bandits kidnapped 287 students and teachers in the Kaduna community, with the students of primary and secondary schools in Kuriga.
The event occurred on Thursday morning in the school, when the students were participating at the school assembly by 8:30am.
Immediately, Governor Uba Sani visited Kuriga on Thursday evening and met with the families of the kidnapped children.
He assured them that the government would do everything possible to bring back their loved ones.
The governor promised them that he would not rest until the children are safely reunited with their families.
This prompted the visit of the Vice President, Senator Shettima to Kaduna State to commiserate with the governor and people of Kaduna State.
