Katsîna Govt Concludes Plans To Distribute Palliatives To Elderly, Women, Orphans

All necessary arrangements have been concluded to kick start this week’s distribution of  rice as free palliatives  to elderly persons, women and orphans across the 34 local government areas of Katsina state by the state government.

Governor Dikko umar Radda made the known while launching the distribution of Ramadan commodities donated by a member of the house of representatives, representing katsina central federal constituency, Alhaji Sani  Aliyu Danlami at the old government house katsina.

Governor Dikko Radda said the distribution would be kick started simultaneously across the thirty four local governments. assuring that, the  state administration would sustain all programs initiated to cushion the hardship facing the common man.

He said the payment of monthly allowance to chief Imams and their assistant as well as the muazzams of jumaat mosques launched this tuesday would henceforth be paid directly into their individual accounts. 

This he said, was in addition to APC officials,, ward heads  now captured into the monthly payroll .

While appreciating the federal legislator for providing the food items,   Governor Dikko Radda hoped he would sustain the kind gesture.

Earlier the state Deputy  Chairman of the  APC Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa named the targeted beneficiaries of the food items  to includes:- one thousand (1000) vulnerables, five hundred (500) Political groups and two hundred and fifty (250) each of orphans and youths

Bala  Musawa who also identified  Party officials as among other beneficiaries, however pleaded for increased allocation considering their large number.

Also in an address the member representing katsina central federal constituency Alhaji Sani Aliyu Danlami  said his decision to provide  the food items was a replica to  Governor Dikko Radda’s gesture at the current period of Ramadan.

He said the food items consist of two thousand bags of twenty five kilogram of Rice,, and One hundred bags each of maize and millet targeted for vulnerables, Orphans and youths as well as political groups across the katsina local government.

In an address of welcome, the chairman of Katsina Local Government Council, Alhaji Aminu Ashiru expressed gratitude to the state Governor for awarding  various contracts worth about seventy billion Naira in the local government headquarters and introduction of free Ramadan feeding program,as well as sales of grains at subsidized Price.
