The immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Barr Boss Mustapha has paid tribute to one of his political strong allies and confidant, Hon Eli Gamaliel Tahbi.
Boss alongside seasoned politicians in Adamawa State in the likes of Hon Kobis Harris Thimnu, House of Representatives (HoR) representing Guyuk/Shelleng constituency, former Majority Leader in the Senate, Senator Silas Zwingina, former HoR member, Gibion Goroki , Rt Hon Sunday Peter and a host of many others were in Baptist Church Guyuk, Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State for the funeral service of late Tahbi.
Boss described Tahbi as his friend with strong fraternity not only in politics and cherished their political lives while in SDP in the late 80s and early 90s.
Late Gamaliel’s biography was penned that he was Boss Mustapha’s closed associate and both served the SDP as PRO and Chairman respectively, bringing it to limelight in the North Eastern region.
The former SGF with a heavy heart in his tribute to late Tahbi, said, “Adieu dear friend, you lived a fulfilled life as a Middle Belter of repute and your passing is a great loss to all of us. The indelible mark you have printed in the hearts of many in the Middle Belt Region, will remain with us and our memories of your commitment and good works will ever be remembered. Rest in the bosom of the Lord dear compatriot.”
“Tahbi has immensely contributed to my political journey and successes, he was my confidant and friend Brother who stood for me at all times, a dear friend who was few among supported my journey in life.” Boss Said
Boss used the opportunity and paid a condolence visit to Kwandin Nunguriya, HRH Dr Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda ll the President and Chairman of Lunguda Traditional Council.
While at the Palace of His Royal Highness He commiserated with the entire people of Guyuk, Lunguda Traditional Council and the entire family of late Eli Gamaliel Tahbi.
Former Majority Leader, Dr Jonathan Silas Zwingina in his tribute, said, “Tahbi is a dear brother, a friend and political associate of all times has gone home to rest in the bosom of the , Lord. Rest in peace, Adieu my confidant.”
Many people paid tributes to Tahbi, who was the former Adamawa State Secretary to the Government during the reigns of Governor Boni Haruna and told the congregants that he lived a good life from his childhood to adulthood.
The biography of late Tahbi was read to have spent 75 years on earth and was born in Guyuk from 1949-2024. The former SGF extolled him as a confidant and political associate of all times throughout his life.
