Journalists in Oyo State on Friday, demanded justice over an assault on a journalist in the state, Tony Babatunde Daniel by the DSS officers at a filling station in Ibadan.
The journalist according to eye witness, was brutally assaulted by the DSS officers at the NNPC Filling Station near the Oyo State NUJ Press Centre in Iyaganku GRA area around 9.30am.
The witnessed said Daniel was reportedly assaulted mercilessly by the DSS officers during which he was brutally injured and was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
Daniel while recounting his ordeal in the hands of the DSS officers, said the incident occurred at the NNPC station, where a routine fuel purchase turned into a nightmare of brutality and intimidation at the hands of the DSS officers.
He narrated that the DSS officers reportedly pounced on him for asking them to follow the queue at the filling station, adding that during which he was seriously battered and his car damaged.
The journalist stressed that the DSS officers during the said assault on him, allegedly exhibited excessive force and aggression on him.
