Police Presents N39m To Families Of 25 Deceased Officers In Kogi

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Bethrand Onuoha, has presented cheques worth over N39 million to 25 families on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

While presenting the cheques to the  beneficiaries yesterday,  CP Bethrand Onuoha  said that the gesture was part of the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance Schemes which aims to improve the welfare of the families of deceased Police Officers.

“Equally,  the gesture aims at supporting  Police Officers who became accident victims while carrying out their duties.

“Importantly  too the scheme aims to encourage other Officers in active service to be diligent while performing the chores  of their duty,” he said.

According to the Commissioner,  the Nigeria Police Force recognizes the sacrifices made by the deceased Officers as well as those who are accident victims to secure the Nation.

He urged the beneficiaries not to misuse the money but to make judicious use of it for the betterment of their families.

The beneficiaries in chorus  appreciated the IGP for the gesture and promised to make use of the money for the benefit of their families.
