Ganduje In Gombe: Presents Flags To APC Candidates For Saturday’s LG Poll 


*National Chairman rains encomiums on Governor Inuwa; says Gombe Now reference point for peace, development

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has presented flags to its chairmanship candidates in the forthcoming Local governments elections in Gombe State.

The party also received thousands of decampees from PDP,  NNPP and other political parties, including former NNPP National Chairman, State and National Assemblies Candidates in the last general election and a flag bearer of PDP  in the forthcoming local government election. 

At a grand rally presided over by the APC National Chairman,  Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje  held on Wednesday at the Pantami Township Stadium, Gombe amidst rousing crowds of supporters from across the the nooks and crannies of the state, the former Kano State Governor extolled Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s leadership style which he said,  gave rise for the enormous progress being witnessed since his assumption of office in 2019.

“The development being witnessed today in Gombe State is a product of hard work of the governor. It is not a coincidence or wishful thinking, and it is in line with our cardinal objectives in the All Progressives Congress, the APC, where we prioritize development and results. The rapid infrastructural development in Gombe State is a testament to Governor Inuwa’s sagacity, administrative acumen and managerial competence. And that is why I always describe him as an epitome and encyclopedia of development and democracy dividends”, the APC Chairman said.

He further said, “Gombe is clearly one of the foremost states in Nigeria in terms of peaceful coexistence, unity and stability. That is because the people have been shown the path of tolerance and, unity and stability. And this credit goes to the Governor. I urge the people of the state to remain supportive of the administration. Let me also say that the mission and vision of the Inuwa-led administration compatibility fit into the Renewed Hope Agenda of Tinubu Administration that centred on commitment to uplift every Nigerian in all ramifications.”

The National Chairman said the leadership of the APC is proud to identify with the notable achievements of the governor, “Governor Inuwa I commend you, our party is proud of your achievements and I will be very proud to tell our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of your important achievements in Gombe State.”

“Indeed Gombe is in safe hands with Governor Inuwa Yahaya and our party the APC. I made bold to say, Gombe has become a shining example from which other stats can take clues”, Ganduje further noted, assuring the people of Gombe State that APC will never betray their confidence.As long as APC keep leading Gombe State the people will never lack or be left out of the goodies of good governance and proactive leadership in Gombe State.

He therefore called for more support and prayers for the president and the APC administration at all levels for the development of Gombe State and the nation in general.

In his remarks, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, expressed his appreciation to the APC National Chairman and members of the National Working Committee for honoring his invitation, assuring the party leadership that Gombe will continue to remain a bastion of progressive governance.

“Let me appreciate our National Chairman, my brother and leader, His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR, for honoring our invitation. The National Chairman has demonstrated that indeed Gombe state is so dear to him”, the Governor said. 

“In Gombe state, since our assumption of office, we have been providing dividends of democracy to our people in line with the objectives upon which our party was formed. Let me proudly say that our projects and programmes have impacted lives across nooks and crannies of the state, a development that continues to earn our party so much support”, he added. 

“I assure the National Leadership of our party and Mr. President that Gombe will continue to remain a bastion of the All Progressives Congress in the Northeast sub-region. I equally want to assure you that come Saturday, based on the development we have brought to the state all over, the people of the state will vote our party in the council elections, and we shall have a sweeping victory at the end of the polls”, the Governor further assured.

On behalf of the decompees from different political parties, Professor Rufai Ahmad Alkali, former National Chairman of the NNPP spoke on behalf of the decampees, saying they were convinced that APC is the solution to the problems in Nigeria based on the commitment to good governance demonstrated by the Tinubu led administration, and the achievements of Governor Inuwa Yahaya in Gombe state.

He said opposition parties are insignificant in Gombe state, assuring that APC will have a resounding victory while promising that all decampees will work towards the success of the party across all levels.

In their separate remarks, the Gombe State APC Chairman, Nitte Amangal, Chief Whip of the House of Representatives,  Rt. Hon. Usman Bello Kumo,  Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly,  Abubakar Luggerewo,  Hon. Fatima Binta Bello, who spoke on behalf  of the APC candidates, and Dr Jamilu isiyaka Gwamna, thanked the national leadership for the support and solidarity, adding that they remain committed to the success of the party at all levels and the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.  

Other APC Chieftains who also graced the occasion include the Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, Alh. Ibrahim Masari, Secretary to the State Government,  Professor  Ibrahim  Abubakar  Njodi,  the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alh. Abubakar Inuwa Kari, and other top government officials and party stakeholders.
