Bodija Explosion: Obas Ready To Support Oyo Govt In Curbing Illegal Mining, Other Criminal Activities – Olugbon Of Ile Igbon

Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs members on Tuesday, expressed readiness to support government in curbing illegal mining and other criminality.

The traditional rulers stated this during a visit to Gov Seyi Makinde to commiserate with him on the Jan. 16 explosion at Bodija area of Ibadan occured in Ibadan.

Speaking after meeting with Gov Makinde, Oba Francis Alao, Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, disclosed that the traditional rulers lauded the governor for been proactive over the Bodija explosion incident.

Oba Alao stressed that Gov Makinde effort in addressing the emergency situation during the explosion was quite impressive.

The Olugbon of Ile Igbon pointed out that all members of the council have pledged their support to the governor and promised to work with the state government.

He stressed that this will majorly be in the area of intelligence gathering in their respective domains toward curbing illegal mining and other criminality.

The Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs meeting with Gov Makinde was attended by the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Laoye; Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola and Okere of Saki, Oba Oyeniyi Olabisi, Iba Kisi of Kishi, Oba Aweda Lawal and Onilala of Lanlate, Oba Sunday Oladejo.the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, was represented by Oba Tajudeen Abimbola.
