A member of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr Mark Clinton Manger has assured the people of Tarka State Constituency that with the collaboration of critical stakeholders like the Secretary of the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, development would never elude his constituency.
The State lawmaker representing Tarka State Constituency at the Benue State House of Assembly who solicited for prayers for the SGF, pointed out that he is equally in touch with the member representatives for Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency and other stakeholders for the general development of the state constituency.
The member who gave spoke at Nyagber day celebration where he was honoured by the people of Mbanyagber of Tarka Local Government Area in Benue State for effective representation in the Assembly, however lamented that the people has not had a fair share in terms of development despite contributions of their son the late JS Tarka, a nationalist who fought for the independence of the country.
He expressed optimism that with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, a lot of ills meted the people of Tarka would be corrected, describing the SGF, Senator George Akume as a kind hearted person, who means well for his Mbakor people and the entire state and called on the people to pray for the SGF.
The Tarka State Constituency Assembly member told the people that the SGF has informed him that very soon, construction work would commence on the road from Damkor – Tomatar in Mbachough and Mbalahan communities, adding that they equally spoke on the issue of electricity.
” We have inspected all communities that have no electricity, where the mounting of poles had stopped, with the view to continue”
He further disclosed that he was equally in touch with the House of Representatives member for Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, Mrs Regina Akume, who has bought a borehole drilling vehicle with plans to drill as many boreholes as possible to make water available.
On the honour bestowed on him, the lawmaker commended the people of Mbanyagber and promised not to disappoint the confidence they’ve reposed on him by making meaningful contributions on the floor of the House that would impact development of the local government positively.
In his brief remarks, Mr Elias Audu, member representing Gwer East State Constituency, who accompanied the celebrant to the occasion, described his colleague Manger as an active member of the house who is making meaningful contributions on issues of development of the entire state including his own area Tarka state constituency and appealed to his people to give him the needed support to succeed.
On his part, HRH Terkimbi Agishi who spoke on behalf of the traditional institution, assured the Manger of their support to enable him succeed, especially that the people of Mbanyagber were having an elective position since the creation of Tarka Local Government Area for the first time.
