At last, the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin on Friday made his first public appearance at his Alalubosa area residence in Ibadan.
Oba Olakulehin has not been seen in the public after the demise of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun
The Olubadan designate on his appearance hosted some of the Ibadan kingmakers who paid him a visit.
One of the kingmakers, the Osi Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lateef Adebimpe, who led other three of the kingmakers to the residence of the Olubadan designate told journalists that Oba Olakulehin is hale and hearty.
The Osi Balogun Olubadan while speaking with journalists after the visit to the Olubadan designate disclosed that, “it is impossible for the Olubadan-in-Council to nominate Olakulehin unless they are sure that he is in good condition.
“It has been sometime we have seen our Kabiyesi Owolabi Olakulehin in our midst and we have been making arrangements for Olakulehin’s coronation ceremony, who is our new Olubadan of Ibadanland”, he said.
The Osi Balogun Olubadan added, “We thank God that he is hale and hearty, and very soon, he will ascend the throne of his fore fathers, we will relate what we see here to our colleagues.
At the visit to the residence of the Olubadan designate, included the Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole; the Ashipa Olubadan, Abiodun Kola-Daisi and Asipa Balogun Olubadan, Oba Kola Adegbola
New Nigerian learnt that in accordance with the traditional arrangement in Ibadanland, the next Olubadan of Ibadanland after the demise of Oba Lekan Balogun who was from the Otun line is the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin who is the most Senior in the Balogun line.
