Civil Society Groups under the auspices of Kaduna Citizens Forum, (KCF) has called on Nigerians to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led administration and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.

The Convener, Director Privilege Magazine and Communications, Victor Bobai, Northwest Coordinator, Nigeria Youth Project, Nuhu Suleiman Makarfi, Market Women Rep, Mama Mai Shinkafa Kawo, Student’s Union, Halima Mohammed and KCF stakeholder, Husseini Modibo Kachia, made the call in a world press conference held in Kaduna on Saturday, said National unity must be prioritized against ethnic, religious and regional sentiments.

It would be recalled that the Nigerian Army earlier this week, denied claims of a coup plot, urged the public to disregard the information as false and untrue.

Addressing newsmen on what the group tagged, “issues of serious concern,” the group demanded a more transparent, accountable, and efficient operations from government at all levels, stressing that it is doorway to the building of public trust that can lead to sustainable growth and development, in a more robust economy.

The group which stressed that coup d’etat is never an option, reiterated that they have carefully examined the activities of General Christopher Musa, as Chief of Defense Staff and can confidently affirmed that he is doing everything humanly possible in ensuring the security and protection of Nigeria and its neighboring West African states.

“In recent times, there have been rumblings of discontent and calls for coup d’etat or war in our beloved country. We stand here today to firmly denounce such calls and urge all Nigerians to unite around their President and constituted authorities.

“In response to the insidious attempts to undermine General Musa’s leadership, we are pleased to announce that public opinion polls will be conducted across Nigeria. These surveys aim to gauge the confidence of the population in the men and women of the Nigeria Armed Forces for their dedication and hard work in defending the unity of our country.

“We must prioritize national unity and work towards fostering harmony among all ethnic, religious, and regional groups within our diverse nation. It is also crucial to promote inclusivity and create an environment where all citizens feel valued and have equal opportunities to contribute to the development of our country. Upholding the rule of law is equally essential for ensuring justice, protecting the rights of citizens, and maintaining a fair and just society.

“President Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and General Christopher Musa are all dedicated to implementing positive reforms that will rebuild and strengthen Nigeria as a nation. Supporting them means supporting a brighter future for all Nigerians.

“Governor Uba Sani has shown great leadership and inclusiveness in his governance of Kaduna state, and supporting him means supporting good governance and excellence in service delivery. It is important for Kaduna residents to rally behind him for continued progress and development in the state.” KCF said.
