Mbalom: Benue Gov Visits Attacks Scene, Sympathies With Victims

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr.  Hyacinth Iormem Alia visited Mbalom community in Gwer East Local Government Area to sympathize with the victims of the attack, most of whom have lost their loved ones and livelihood during the attack.

He said that the visit is a sympathy tour as well as assessment to support the affected persons.

Represented by his deputy, Barr. Dr. Sam Ode, he described the attacks as unfortunate, saying the government is saddened by the event that occured since March 7, 2024.

He assured the people of the government’s commitment to the protection of lives and property which according to him is the primary mandates on protecting lives and property.

The governor said that the recent upsurge of criminal activities by certain elements will be thoroughly investigated by the security insisting that the killers must be punished for the crime.

The governor who was accompanied on the visit by the Acting Executive Secretary, Benue State Emergency Management Agency (Benue SEMA) Sir. James Iorpuu donated food and non food items to victims .

The  Benue State House of Assembly Member for Gwer East, Alias Audu commended the governor for responding to the plight of the victims and called on security agencies to fish out the criminals.

Also speaking, the Caretaker Chairman, Gwer East Local Government Area, Hon.Comfort Agbo Ter Gwer, His Royal Highness, Chief Dominic Akpe all commended the Governor for his genuine commitment and prompt visit to the  Mbaikyor community of Gwer East Local Government.
