Easter: Triumph Of Hope Over Despair – Uba Sani

By; FUNMI ADERINTO, Kaduna

Governor Uba Sani on Saturday,   extended  his warmest felicitations to Christian brothers and sisters on the joyous occasion of Easter, which is in commemoration of the  resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He said Easter  is the climax of forty days of fasting, prayer and charity works. For  Christians all over the world, the cardinal lessons of Easter lie in  Jesus Christ’s unconditional love, absolute forgiveness and  glorious self-sacrifice for the redemption of mankind.

“Something unique and symbolic is happening to us this year. Something that points us in the direction of unity and religious tolerance.

“The Lenten period merged with the Ramadan period. Christians and Muslims found themselves bound  together in fasting and prayer about the same period. As a people of faith this is highly significant.

“I believe this provided us the opportunity  to reflect on and pray  for the realization of our collective vision for a truly united, strong and prosperous nation.

“We must also use the Easter holiday to reflect deeply on what we need to do as a people  to ensure  the total  defeat of the  evil forces that work  against our unity, progress and  economic development.

“I am convinced that the measures being taken by my government is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to eliminating all forms of criminality, and restoring peace and security to our troubled communities.

“I therefore, urge you, at this solemn occasion, to  rededicate yourselves to making sacrifices and supporting government to bring into fruition a peaceful and prosperous Kaduna State, and “a Nation bound in freedom,  peace and unity.

“I wish you joyful Easter celebrations,” he said.
