Gombe Governor, Emir Lead Hundreds Of Symphatizers At Funeral Prayer For Late Elder Statesman, Muhammadu Aliyu

Gombe State Governor,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  CON, has led top government functionaries, including his Deputy, Manassah Daniel Jatau to the funeral prayer of the late elder statesman,  Alhaji Muhammadu Aliyu ( Santurakin Yamaltu) who died on Sunday at the age of 94.

Emir of Gombe,  Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III,  CFR, Emir of Nafada, Alhaji Muhammadu Dadum Hamza, family members, friends and associates of the bereaved were among hundreds of sympathizers who attended the Janazah held today at the Bubayero Mosque, Emir’s Palace,  Gombe.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya had earlier in a message of condolence to the family, described the late educationist as a distinguished public servant, highly respected father, community leader and elder statesman with a pedigree of humility, integrity and hard work.

According to a statement signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs) Government House Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli, dated Monday April 8, 2024,  he said that the death of Alhaji Aliyu is a huge loss, not only for his immediate family but to the state and nation at large.

The Governor paid tribute to the deceased,  saying,  “the late Alhaji Muhammadu Aliyu’s life was a shining example of honour, integrity, and selflessness. As an educationist, he dedicated himself to building a brighter future for generations to come. His contributions to education were profound and his philanthropic endeavours touched countless lives, providing hope and opportunity to those in need as evidenced by the Islamiyya schools he established,  which continue to serve our communities”. 

He urged the entire Muhammadu Aliyu’s family to take solace in the knowledge that their late father’s legacy will endure through  the lives he touched and the disciplined children he left behind, praying that his memory will continue to inspire them to strive for excellence and compassion that his life examplified.  

The Governor prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.

Born in 1930 in Gombe, Alhaji Muhammadu Aliyu left behind 10 children, including the Gombe State Commissioner of Trade,  Industry and Tourism,  Alhaji Nasiru Muhammad Aliyu, mni (Magajin Garin Gwani), Major General Abdulrashid Muhammad Aliyu RTD (Sarkin Kudun Gombe); President of ZAVATI Group, Alhaji Abdulrahman Muhammad Aliyu (Majen Gombe), Alhaji Adamu Aliyu, Buhari Muhammadu Aliyu ( Sarkin Bauran Gombe) among others.
