The reported death of Islamic Cleric, one of the most respected leaders of the Sufi group otherwise known as Tijaniya Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has been debunked by the family of the religious leader.

While debunking the unfounded circulated news of the death of the Islamic leader during press briefing with journalists in Bauchi recently,  Alhaji Sanusi Dahiru, a very close family member of the cleric said  Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi is hale, healthy and alive.

According to him, “the 97 years old cleric is hale and hearty in Abuja this morning we spoke with him and is very fine”.

“Sheikh Bauchi has left Abuja for Kaduna on Thursday for the closing ceremony of his Annual tafsir, where he was represented by his son, Dr  Sulumbai Dahiru.

“ Therefore, admirers of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, should disregard the rumors. He is still alive in good health despite old age, urging the general public  to continue to pray for him,” Dahiru said.

The family member urged the rumor peddlers to wait until it would be time for him to join Muslims who had passed away to the glory of Allah.
