Kngmakers Appoint Olakulehin As 43rd Olubadan 


*To forward name to Gov Makinde for consent

The Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin was on Friday, appointed as the New Olubadan of Ibadanland by the Olubadan in Council and Kingmakers in Ibadan.

Oba Olakulehin was selected as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan by the kingmakers at a meeting attended by 10 of the kingmakers held at the Olubadan palace, Ojaba area of Ibadan.

It all started at about 9am with the arrival of the kingmakers as well as some prominent Ibadan indigenes to grace the official ratification and announcement of the new Olubadan.

Oba Olakulehin arrived the venue of the meeting around 10am amidst shouts of joy and  loud ovation from Ibadan sons and daughters that arrived venue of the meeting to catch a glimpse of the new Olubadan 

At the Ibadan kingmakers meeting which started around 11.25am, the new Olubadan was nominated by the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Lateef Adebimpe with the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja as the Chairman of the Kingmakers .

Speaking with journalists at the end of the Olubadan-in-council meeting, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland a High Chief Rashidi Ladoja said with the meeting, appointment of the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, the kingmakers have concluded their part of the nomination exercise.

High Chief Ladoja stressed that what is left is the consent of Gov Seyi Makinde

The Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland stressed that a letter will be prepared by the local government and send to the governor as soon as possible for consent

“As soon as the governor give consent to the letter, a date for coronation will be pick.”he said 

The meeting was attended by the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja; the Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole; the Ashipa Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi; the Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Hamidu Ajibade; the Ekarun Olubadan, Oba Adebayo Akande; the Osi Balogun, Oba Lateef Adebimpe; the Ashipa Balogun, Oba Kola Adegbola; Ekerin Balogun, Oba Dada Isioye and the Ekarun Balogun, Oba Abiodun Azeez.
