*Commissions 2 blocks of 20 lock-up shops built by NGIC in Delta

The Managing Director NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited (NGIC), Engr. Seyi Omotowa, yesterday, said the company is a wholly owned subsidy of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited NNPC Ltd with the mandate to transport natural gas for domestic consumption and regional export.
The MD NGIC also commended the Delta State Government and security agencies for their invaluable contributions and corporations in the maintenance of peace and harmony in the state.
Engr. Omotowa gave the commendation on the occasion of commissioning and handover of a two blocks of 20 lock-up shops built by NGIC for Ugbokodo Community, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, on Tuesday.
Represented by Mr. Kazachiyang Nuhu, Executive Director, Business Service, NGIC, Engr. Omotowa, disclosed this at the official commissioning of the newly built two blocks of Twenty lock-up shops being a Corporate Social Responsibility project by the NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited (NGIC) for the good people of Ugbokodo community.
According to him, “NGIC is a socially responsible organization whose community relations philosophy views the host communities as partners with the desire that they buy into her business opportunities.
“As a Gas Transportation company with a vision to support the economic growth of Nigeria, our gas pipeline infrastructure network traverses over 2,500km across over 350 host communities in 11 states of the federation.
“Nonetheless, as a responsible and responsive company, we remain committed to developing a robust and sustainable relationship with our host communities. Their wellbeing is paramount in our corporate social responsibility thrust, and this simply why we are here today.
“Therefore, we present to you this two blocks of Twenty lock-up shops as a token of our contribution to the development of the community which we cherish dearly as one of our peace -loving communities.”
He continued, “On our part as a company, we shall continue to solicit for your co-operation and assistance in the maintenance of peace in order to support our business growth aspirations for the benefit of our people in this community and Nigerians generally.”
The Managing Director, NGIC, assured that the company will always encourage and appreciate communities that promote peace, dialogue and understanding in the resolution of any issues. This indeed, is the Hallmark of our community relations engagement process.
“We will also appreciate direct contact with NGIC management through our corporate communication department on any community issues and not through a third party. Problems are better solved where there is constant communication between entities with vested interested, for the mutual benefits of all.
“We appeal to you as a community, this lock-up shops is yours. We therefore urge you to safeguard it by putting in place adequate security measures to protect it.
“I commend the government of Delta State for their valuable contributions and co-operation in the maintenance of peace and harmony in the state”.
In his address, the Ugbokodo Community Chairman. Christopher Ofoye appealed that NNPC-NGIC Should endeavor to complete remaining market project based on their already submitted architectural drawings.
