Police Parades Four Over Alleged Kidnapping, Cultiism In Akwa Ibom

Police Command in Akwa Ibom State has paraded four persons over alleged criminal activities linked to kidnapping and cultism in the state.

The suspects whose names were given as Godwin Adam Aka Nasarawa ‘m’ 35yrs of Idong Useme Village, Isaac Samuel Bassey ‘m’ 25yrs of Assang Usong  Inyong and Emmanuel Hanson Isong ‘m’ 29yrs of Idung Uso Village, all of Eket Local Government Area have confessed to being members of Black Axe Confraternity.

According to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Timfon John were also suspected to be involved in the gruesome murder of one Kufre Usoro aka Promzy ‘m’ 32yrs said to be a member of Klanz Cult group who was murdered on Thursday 4th of April, 2024.

Also paraded was a 35-year old Victor Usoro Eyire aka Tender ‘m’ of Iseyiridua Village in Eket who has been on the Command wanted list for being a ringleader of Black Axe Cult Group terrorizing Eket/Etinan/Ekparakwa Axis of the state. 

Items recovered include one English Pump Action Rifle, one Short Machine Gun (SMG), one locally made revolver pistol, eleven rounds of 9mm Ammunitions, and four rounds live cartridges from their Group Operational Base at Ikot Oku Ikono Village, Uyo L.G.A. 

ASP John said the arrest of the suspects followed complaints received by the Command on an inter-confraternity clash between different cult groups ongoing in Eket and its environs

The command image maker in a release on Monday in Uyo, explained that the command has intensified efforts to arrest other fleeing gangs and possible recovery of their weapons. 

She said that the Command under Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Waheed Ayilara remained resolute in its determination to rid the state of criminal elements.
