Polio: 2,104 CHILDREN Immunized In Kaduna – JAP

A total of 2,104 children were immunized during the April 2024 round of Polio Immunization Exercise in Kaduna State.

Journalists Initiative on immunization Against Polio, (JAP), State Coordinator, Mallam Lawal Dogara disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday.

According to him, since 2007 JAP has been conducting road shows, drama performances, sensitization programmes and Town Hall meetings with community leaders and parents for the promotion of polio immunization.

” During the April Polio vaccination, our organization (JAP) visited four local government areas which are Makarfi, Zaria, Igabi and Kaduna South, all in Kaduna State, where 2,104 children immunized,” he said.

He noted that for every round of polio exercise in the State, JAP usually do its programmes as a follow up in various communities across Local Government Areas to get to children who missed out in the House to House vaccination.

Dogara advised parents not to relent in their efforts towards ensuring a polio free Nigeria by bringing out their children from age zero to five years to receive the vaccination.
