Damagum Condoles Sokoto PDP Chair Over Mother’s Death

The acting National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Umar Damagum has extended condolences to the Chairman of the party in Sokoto State, Alhaji Bello Goronyo, over the death of his mother, Hajia Khadija Goronyo.

This was contained in a statement by Senior Special Assistant to the National Chairman on Media and Communications, Yusuf Dingyadi. 

Dingyadi said a delegation led by the PDP National Organizing Secretary, Umar Mohammed Bature, visited Goronyo’s family and submitted the condolence letter on behalf of Damagum and the party leadership.

According to him, Damagum was saddened by the loss and described the death as a huge loss, painful and irreparable, being the family pillar who trained and raised members of the family.

”The death of Hajia Khadija Goronyo is very painful, she left a vacuum that is difficult to fill in recognition of her valuable and supportive contributions.

‘On behalf of the entire leadership of our great party, we condole state party chairman, state party members and by extension the rest of the family members, over the sad loss, ” He quoted Damagum.

He prayed for the deceased and enjoined family members to emulate her community and religious contributions to the state and nation.

Responding on behalf of the family, the PDP Sokoto State Chairman extended  appreciation for the message and the visit to sympathise with the family over the loss.

He prayed for Almighty God to continue to guide and support the leadership of the party under Ambassador Iliya Damagum for peace, unity and progress.
