Some staff of Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology, (NILEST) Zaria were beneficiaries of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) sponsored training of the Nigerian Youths on Digital Skills, which took place in Kano between January 16 to 18, 2024
A statement signed by the institute’s PRO, Mr. Remi Bashoun, said the training, titled, “Digital Skills for Youth Empowerment,” had selected youths from Northern states represented, while the selected beneficiaries from NILEST who were mobilised to the workshop by the magnanimous permission of the management led by Prof. M.K. Yakubu, cut across tribes, religions and gender.
He said, the permission by the DG for the nominees to participate in the training programme, which held at Niimah Guest Palace Hotel, was necessary because the programme was not NILEST sponsored.
The workshop offered the beneficiaries the opportunity to learn skills to use applications such as Canva, html, Capcut etc., that can be used for web designing, content creation and many others
The 2-day event was capped up by the beneficiaries being issued a certificate of participation and empowered with simless, wireless tablet each.”
