Alleged Defamation:  Sunday Igboho Drags Gani Adams To Court, Seeks N500m Compensation

Yoruba Nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, Igboho has instituted a N500 million  defamatory suit against the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams 

The suit was filed on behalf of the Yoruba Nation agitator before an Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan, in which his counsel, Barrister J. A. Sanusi, is seeking  N500 million as compensation for defamatory statements allegedly made against him by Iba Gani Adams.

Chief Adeyemo in the suit, alleged Iba Gani Adams of accusing him of being a serial killer and assassin for prominent politicians, including President Bola Tinubu, in an audio conversation in 2021. 

The Yoruba Nation activist in the suit, is also praying the court to order the payment of exemplary and aggravated damages in the amount of N500 million in his favour. 

In the suit, Iba Gani Adams was quoted as allegedly saying,  “I was not against Igboho until he became close to Tinubu. You know I get my information from different angles as Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland.”

It alleged  further, ” he was with Lagos State Governor’s Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, yesternight from the information at my disposal. He left Tayo Ayinde around 2.45 am, and you know Tinubu uses him (Tayo Ayinde) to coordinate criminal activities. He was compensated with the position of Chief of Staff.”
