 4 Ex  Zamfara Governors Meet Over Rising Wave Of Insecurity

Four former Zamfara State governors, including Senator Ahmed Sani Yarima, Alhaji Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle yesterday,  held a closed door meeting to discuss ways to improve the security situation of the state, which has continued to deteriorate.

A statement signed by All Progressives Congress  (APC) Publicity Secretary Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris Gusau, made available to news men revealed that the former Governors and leaders  met at the Minister’s residence in Abuja,  lasting about four hours into late night also addressed the security situation  in general with a view to finding a lasting solution to the problem and improve socio-economic growth, education and health care development in the state.

They maintained that in discussing security matters, all other concerns and differences, especially political, must set aside for the greater good of the people.

Although details of the meeting were not fully disclosed, it was gathered from an impeccable source at the residence that the former governors equally discussed better ways to move the All Progressives Congress (APC) forward.

The source said that the unity and progress of the party is more important than anything ahead of the coming elections.
