Inflation:  Zulum Distributes Food Items, Cash To 70,000 Households In Bama

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State on Sunday night in Bama after paying homage to the Shehu of Bama, HRH, Alh.  Kyari  Ibn  Ibrahim  Kyari Umar  El Kanemi at his palace, distributed palliatives as early as 6am on  Monday morning  to kick-start  the distribution of palliatives to vulnerable households to cushion the effect of hike in food prices and inflation in the country.

The governor also disbursed N5000 cash to the vulnerable women in Bama and it’s environs.

Speaking to newsmen after the food distribution exercise, he disclosed that   25,000 men benefitted, where each  received 25kg of rice and 25kg bag of maize,  while 45,000 women that benefitted each received a wrapper and  ₦5,000 cash. 

Zulum  also said  that he will convene a stakeholders meeting in the state to see to the possibility of  tackling  food crisis in the state as  the situation or  issue is becoming alarming and  worrisome. 

He also thanked the federal government for  support to the people and government  of Borno State from  the beginning of the insurgency  to date, while acknowledging security and other support from the federal government and security services including the vigilante groups.
