Oyo state Police command on Thursday, hinted that it has put in place high level security measures to ensure a peaceful Easter celebration in and across the state.
The command made this known in a statement by the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) on behalf of Commissioner of Police, CP Adebola Hamzat
According to the statement, as a result of this, ” the holidays shall witness effective deployment of Command’s operational, intelligence and tactical assets characterized by visibility policing, effective surveillance, confidence-building patrols, intelligence-led stop and search to forestall any untoward happening during the holidays and beyond”.
” Consequent upon the above, the CP has tasked Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and tactical commanders to personally lead patrols across all Government critical infrastructure, Media Houses, Correctional facilities, Banks, Places of Worship, Recreational Centers, Public spaces and all entry and exit points within and outside the State”, it said.
Oyo Police Command emphasized its commitment to the protection of lives and property in the state, adding, “If you see something, say something and the Police will immediately do something”.
The state Police command then enjoined residents in the state, particularly Christians to reflect on the virtues of forgiveness, peace, tolerance, selflessness and love.
