Delta Police, Right Activist Rescue Abandoned One Month Baby

The Police in Delta State on Monday,  in Orerokpe Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Paul Oboware  rescued a month old baby boy who was abandoned by the mother in Osubi Community, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State. 

New Nigerian Newspapers  learnt that the police and a human rights activist, Comrade Kelvin Ejumudo rescued the baby after an aged woman who saw the baby, raised alarm. 

The baby was promptly handed over to the police,  

According to Comrade Ejumudo who said, “It’s worrisome what could have led to this scenario where one would abandon a child, not thinking about the safety and the welfare.”

When contacted for confirmation, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the report in a text message he sent to New Nigerian Correspondent in Asaba on Monday evening.

His message read thus, “Confirmed but not rescued by the activist pls”.
