*Kingmakers set for ratification, present him to Gov Makinde same day

There are indications that kingmakers in Ibadan will on Thursday, officially ratify and announce the current Balogun of Ibadanland, Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.
New Nigerian gathered that the kingmakers at a meeting on Monday in Ibadan, fixed Thursday, April 11, 2024 as the date for the ratification and announcement of the new Olubadan.
Sources said the meeting reportedly held on Monday at the Iwo Road residence of a former President of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Bode Amao agreed that the eleven kingmakers who are also members of Olubadan-in-Council are to meet on that at Mapo hall.
It was learnt that that the new Olubadan is expected to be presented at the Thursday meeting by the Balogun line after which his name would be ratified and announced by the entire Ibadan kingmakers.
According to sources, after the pronouncement on Thursday, the kingmakers will be going straight to Gov Makinde for the presentation of the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.
New Nigerian recalled that the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin last Friday made his first public appearance at his Alalubosa area residence in Ibadan
The Olubadan designate on his appearance, hosted some of the Ibadan kingmakers who paid him a visit with one of the kingmakers, Osi Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lateef Adebimpe, who led other three of the kingmakers to the residence of the Olubadan designate saying Oba Olakulehin is hale and hearty.
The Osi Balogun Olubadan while speaking with journalists stressed that, “it is impossible for the Olubadan-in-Council to nominate Olakulehin unless they are sure that he is in good condition”
“It has been sometime we have seen our Kabiyesi Owolabi Olakulehin in our midst and we have been making arrangements for Olakulehin’s coronation ceremony, who is our new Olubadan of Ibadanland. We thank God that he is hale and hearty, and very soon, he will ascend the throne of his fore fathers, we will relate what we see here to our colleagues.”
