Eight primary schools in Adamawa State have receive N296 million grant as intervention for expansion under the Global Partner for Education (GPE),a world bank assisted programme in collaboration with the state government.
Speaking at the disbursement flag-off in Yola, Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta said each school got N37 million for its expansion/rehabilitation project
Farauta stressed that, the gesture is to provide good atmosphere for learning in public schools.
She charged School Based Management Committee (SBMCs) to ensure ownership of the project as well as judicious utilization of the funds.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Umar Garba, Commissioner for Education, commended GPE/World Bank for it timely intervention
He maintained that, transparent, timely and good execution of the projects leads to another rewards by the GPE.
New Nigerian reports that primary schools in Madagali, Lamurde Jada, Shelleng, Song, Toungo and Yola-South benefited in the expansion category.
While in the rehabilitation category, schools in Ganye Girei, Madagali, Mayo-Belwa Michika, Demsa, Gombi, Jada, Song Yola+South Numan, Lamurde, Maiha, Guyuk and Fufore were selected
Chairman state SBMC, Galadima Isa, who spoke on behalf of the benefiting schools promised quality job at the end of the projects.
