Abacha’s Failed Bank Tribunal Chairman, Justice Idajili Passes On At 82

An outstanding Judicial Officer, who served as Chairman of failed Bank Tribunal during late General Sani Abacha administration, Justice Steven Sado Idajili, has passed on after a brief illness at the age of 82 years
Justice Idajili from Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, is notable for being the Chairman of the Failed Bank Tribunal set up by the Government of late General Sani Abacha, said to be one of one of the outstanding jurists in Nigeria.
He was equally part of a seven -man panel set up by the Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajanah to investigate the allegation of gross misconduct against the then State Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba.
The legal luminary also Chaired the Grievance Redress Committee set up by the Kogi State project coordinator of the Agro Processing Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support Project (APPEALS).
New Nigerian Newspapers gathered that until his death, he was the Secretary of Kogi State Retired Judges.
A statement by the family, signed by Francis Idajili, said Christian Wake would hold Wednesday, June 12, at Lokoja Kogi State and interment the following day.
The statement added that a Valedictory Court Session will be held on Thursday June 13, at the Chief Judge’s Chambers, High Court of Justice, The Judiciary Lokoja, Kogi State.
